Caption/Writeup | State level one day seminar and poster presentation competition “PHARMAZEST 2019” was organized by Dr .L.H. Hiranandani College of Pharmacy on 9th February 2019. Prof. Krishna Iyer presented a detailed talk on “Technical Writing” and Dr. Moazzam Khan presented a thought provoking talk on “Stress management”.
Poster presentation and logo designing competition was evaluated by prof. Krishna Iyer, Dr. Amol Hule, Dr. Vinod Gupta. Total 32 posters were presented and 21 logo were designed from students from different Pharmacy colleges. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners. |

Caption/Writeup | Department of Pharmaceutics in association with Jay instruments and systems limited and MNS instruments successfully conducted one day “Hands-on training in use of nanonization equipment’s”on 7th October 2017.
About 30 participants from different institutions and universities attended the workshop enthusiastically. Mr.Sandesh Pinpale and team (Jay instruments and systems limited), Mr.M.N.Sutar and his team (MNS instruments) and Dr.Nilesh Khutle (Dr.L.H.Hiranandani college of Pharmacy) delivered talk on nanonisation equipments. The workshop had two components theoretical talk and practical hands-on training nanonisation equipment’s like High pressure homogenizer, spray drier and Particle size and zeta potential analyzer.

The aim of this seminar was to enable the participants to successfully exploit their synthetic and medicinal chemistry expertise with the end goal of discovering compounds suitable for progression into human clinical trials. Lectures from reputed experts from industry and academia included topics related to Process chemistry, Computer – aided drug discovery (CADD) to support Medicinal chemistry. The seminar further highlighted the current scenario of Intellectual Property in Indian Pharmaceutical R&D and US Patent, general IP Awareness & International filing with an industry perspective. This helped to provide deeper insight into every stage of discovery, from target identification to lead optimization to patent filing and help students explore different career avenues in the field of chemistry.

Caption/Writeup | Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, organized One Day Workshop on “Laboratory Safety and First-Aid” on 25th January 2018. This workshop was sponsored by Pilot Products (Jackson tissues). This workshop was conducted under Criterion of training and facilities: Skills upgradation program of laboratory staff and Undergraduate Research Program of T. Y. B-Pharmacy students of Mrs. Anita Yadav.
This workshop was especially tailored for laboratory staff and all those who work with chemicals on a daily basis. It was divided into two parts one was on Laboratory safety and the other was on First aid. All the Laboratory Staff and store staff of the college enthusiastically participated in the workshop. Staff members of various colleges in Mumbai and vicinity also participated. Mr. Sanjay Chavan, Safety Officer, Excel Industries, Khed, guided on Laboratory Safety, Handling, Storage and maintenance of chemicals and Fire safety. He gave Demonstration on using Fire extinguisher. After the session, Mr. Chavan visited all the laboratories and store of the college, and gave valuable feedback about Lab safety, storage and maintenance of the chemicals. Dr. Apoorva Deshpande, Director, Lifeline Institute of first-aid and emergency medicine, Thane, guided on First-Aid and safety. She and her team gave many Demonstrations on first aid, Recovery position, DRABC, How to handle conscious and unconscious causality. How to deal with any emergency in laboratory. |

Caption/Writeup | State level one day seminar and poster presentation competition “PHARMAZEST 2018” was organized by Dr.L. H. Hirandani College of Pharmacy on 10th February 2018. Dr. Sanjay Toshniwal, Eduprener and founder Dr. S.K. Toshniwal Education and Research Trust was the Eminent Speaker for the session. He presented a detailed and thought provoking talk on “Intellactual property Rights: Innovation, Economics and access”
Poster presentation competition was evaluated by Dr. Swati Pund, Mr. Atish Sawant, Mr. Rounak Badera and Mr. Nitiraj Ransing-Patil. Total 38 posters were presented from students from different Pharmacy colleges. Logo making competition was evaluated by Mr. Atish Sawant, Mr. Rounak Badera and Mr. Nitiraj Ransing-Patil. Total 11 Logo on the topic “SAY NO TO RESISTANCE TO ANTIBIOTICS” were made by students from different Pharmacy colleges. Cash prizes were awarded to the winners. |

Caption/Writeup | It was organized with the view of making our students aware of the various career opportunities in the field of medical writing and to make them aware about the skills that are required to fit in the profession of medical writing.
The scope of the various sessions arranged for the seminar expanded from writing in the regulatory affairs to writing in the medico marketing fields and it also covered aspects of manuscript writing. Dr. Amol Hule, Assistant Manager,Regulatory Writing, SIRO clinpharm, Thane presented a talk on “Introduction to Regulatory Medical Writing, the backbone of Clinical Development of a Potential Drug Candidate”. Dr. Gandhali Deshpande, Senior Scientific Content Manager, CIMS Medical, Mumbai presented a talk on “Science Branding Communication: Translating Science into value”. Dr Shruti Shah, Associate Medical Director, Cactus Communications, Mumbai, presented a talk on “Scientific Article Writing Reviewing and Publishing Skills”. Total 48 participants from different colleges participated in the event. 14 posters were presented in the same. The winner of the competition were awarded cash prizes, and the first prize winners were awarded with complementary enrollment to an online course on Medical Writing which was sponsored by ICME – Medical Writing Institute. |
